Makgadikgadi Pan is a fossil lake bed which was once part of the ancient lake Makgadikgadi. The pans spread over 12.000 km², and there are several areas to visit. During the rainy season, the roads can become very wet, which could result in getting stuck. It is an amazing and unique landscape.

The pan seems to be very dry, but when you walk on it, you can see that there still is water underneath (the sand is wet). There is no other sounds than wind, it's a lunar landscape. In the distance, herds of antelopes hide in the yellow grasses. Game is more abundant in Makgadikgadi National Park (lions, hyenas, zebras…).
