We're not likely to forget this episode : on the road to Makgadikgadi National Park, we had to cross an old river bed. Bad luck, our vehicle was much too heavy, and it got stuck in the sand. We had no other choice and had to bivouac there. It was dark, and while we were trying to have a look at the surroundings with our torches, we perceived two eyes. It was a hyena, and she would have liked to share our meal…

Since we were about to run out of petrol (and all the petrol stations were empty), we stopped in this village to see if someone could help us with a few litres… We were soon surrounded by children. They tried to touch the women's hair (and they had a good time !!). When they saw the camera, they all wanted to be on the pictures and stroke all kinds of funny poses !!
