Okavango Delta

Click to enlarge the picture The Okavango River starts on the Benguiela Plateau in Angola and never reaches any ocean. At the end, the water spread over a large area (in the Kalahari), and from this results the formation of the Delta. This wetland is really an oasis in the desert. It has become a sanctuary for many species (hippos, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes and about 300 different birds species).
From Maun, we flied over the Delta at sunset. The colours were amazing (yellow, orange, blue and green)… We perceived a few crocodiles sunbathing, and giraffes running between the pools. Click to enlarge the picture
